Happy 4th of July weekend! After a rainy 4th its been a beautiful weekend here in the Hudson Valley. Last night after dinner I went out with the camera to try to get some pictures of the garden. Everything is blooming like crazy, but I ended up taking lots of pictures of all the birds. These birds are still hard at work raising their babies. Our yard has become a bird heaven, between all the houses, the bird baths, and they love the fence around the pool.
These girls start at dawn and work until sundown.
I love this one in our "condo" with the mama, the dad, and the baby peeking out.
Just thought these guys were so pretty sitting on the fence.
Someone is moving into our Penn State birdhouse.
At least 3 boxes in the rainbow house were lived in. The mamas love to perch in the tree and poop on the roof.
This girl showed up to munch on some weeds.
Now for some flowers. I love zinnias. We haven't had them in a couple of years due to building the pool and patio but now they're back.
This lone sunflower seed must have dropped in the rocks under our bird feeder this past winter and decided to stay.
The coneflowers are putting on quite a show.
The hydrangeas are also starting to bloom.
Our youngest pointed out that the clematis has grown into a heart shape around the mailbox.
Our guild made a scrap baby quilt to donate to Project Linus, and I was able to quilt it yesterday. It was done with just loops and I love the way it looks.
Not a great picture, but you could see Mars over the moon last night.
I've got a baby quilt to work on and some reading to do, what's everyone doing today?
My name is Kristin McLoughlin. I love to quilt for my family and friends. I am a blanket addict. Please feel free to contact me. Thanks for stopping by!
