I am a really delinquent blogger lately. I don't know why but this spring seemed really busy, and now here we are in July and things haven't slowed down. I'm hoping now that school is done, and the holiday is over things will turn to a lazier pace. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
I'll try to catch up on some quilting. This navy and white was made for a friend's niece who graduated from Penn State this spring. The front is a St. Louis sixteen patch from all kinds of navy prints alternating with Kona white. The back got the rallying cry of Penn State "We Are!". I used the alphabet patterns from Moda to spell it out. I loved the way the letters came out and would love to do a quilt of the whole alphabet.
Pardon the bad lighting!
The quilting added a great touch with all over paw prints.
I was lucky to work on several quilts from Michelle that were just adorable. This one got quilted with a new to me swirl pattern and I can't wait to use it again.
This is another of Michelle's quilts. It's a giant bear paw that we quilted with a big honeycomb pattern. I loved the texture it added.
This next one is a jelly roll race quilt that I did this spring. It was from an old Kate Spain roll of "Good Fortune" fabric. I got the middle pieced then scoured the internet to find matching yardage for the border and binding. I got lucky with a quilt shop from Texas that still had some in stock. Thank you Google!
This was quilted with "Al fresco" and I am very happy with the result.
While cleaning out the sewing room I found these orphaned churn dash blocks and put them together finally. Hoping to quilt it this week.
I have also been working on some baby girl quilts for a couple of special people. I'm using 'Snippets' by Cotton Way for the pattern. I have LOTS of half square triangles to trim...so I'm off! What's your summer project?
My name is Kristin McLoughlin. I love to quilt for my family and friends. I am a blanket addict. Please feel free to contact me. Thanks for stopping by!
