So the last couple of weeks have been busy in a good way! I've had the pleasure of working on some really beautiful quilts. Each one has been so different. The first one belongs to Shelly. She is making this bright throw quilt to cuddle up with this fall. She chose bright red thread and interlocking squares as the pattern.
Here is her great pieced back.
Aren't these wonky blocks so cute?
The next quilt was for a friend of my Mom's named Pat. It is a big quilt destined for her bed.
I quilted it with big feathers and swirls. I love two color quilts!
I'm not a huge feather person but I really like the way these came out.
The next quilt is one I made for a baby that's coming soon. It's a pattern from Camille Roskelly's Simply Retro book. It went together really fast, and I love the bright modern colors.
I used chain maille for the quilting pattern. I've used this several times and I like it more each time.
Today I did another baby quilt with this pattern for the quilting for Jody. She chose a baby pink thread. It was made with Wee Wander fabric which I adore!
The weather is supposed to be hot and sunny this week so I'm going to try to eek out a last blast of summer before we are back to reality. What's everyone's plans for this holiday weekend?
Wow! The days seem to be slipping by so fast. Labor Day is right around the corner. We have had beautiful weather but it is definitely moving towards autumn. Driving to work this past weekend at 6am there was fog in the valleys and a little chill in the air. I love the fall, don't get me wrong, but there is something about summer, schedules are relaxed, the days are nice and long, and we spend lots of time outside. This is probably why I have been AWOL from this blog.
The farm market produce has been amazing. I'm going to turn into an ear of corn.
The flowers are loving this weather.
I've got a couple of client quilts waiting for my attention this week. I'm also working on a couple of baby quilts. I will be back later in the week with some pictures. What's everyone else working on?
