Last Sunday I was the hostess for the June meeting of the Hudson Valley Modern Quilt Guild. We had a great afternoon sitting out by the pool having snacks and show and tell. I was a slacker and did not take any pictures, but my friend Jody documented it on her blog www.thevanillayear.com. She made a beautiful little bag for me out of our favorite Tula Pink fabric.
It's perfect for a little knitting project, and to my delight she put a beautiful skein of sock yarn inside. Now she has to teach me to knit socks. ;)
We have had such great weather here, all the flowers are growing like crazy. Lots of bunnies in the yard, which provide a constant challenge for our furry child.
We live not far from the US Military Academy at West Point. In the summer the Army band gives free concerts in the amphitheater overlooking the Hudson River. We have never gone to one until tonight but it won't be the last!
I finished the layer cake picnic quilt just before the concert started, it came out great.
The perfect place for our cheese and crackers.
The concert was amazing! They played music from the movies, including Frozen, James Bond, and Star Wars. Storm Troopers made an appearance and Darth Vader fought with the conductor.
Here's the money shot...
Have a great week!
