Ten days ago a tiny but important part of my machine broke. The part was ordered right away, but then proceeded to get lost somewhere between New York and Missouri.
This is the culprit. It is a check spring and it helps regulate thread tension. I couldn't use my machine without it. For 9 days. Ugh. Thanks to an overnight shipment I am now back up and running. The original order is still floating around the country somewhere. It was a most frustrating week. My friend Jodi who blogs at http://thevanillayear.com/ wrote a post a few weeks ago about seeing red, and I was definitely seeing red this week. Then I noticed red seemed to be popping up a lot in my daily life.
The cranberries I brought home from Cape Cod.
A new project that I'm starting. Ssssshhh! It's a Christmas present. ;)
An emergency stop at the store for red grapes at the request of daughter # 2.
The burning bush outside my front door.
Fall apples, you get the picture. No pun intended. So today I was back to quilting after a little repair work with Floyd. First up to get done was my Hashtag quilt. I love it. It was quilted with a pattern called Popcorn and I used wool batting. It feels so warm and soft. The binding is going on tonight.
Here's looking forward to a more neutral week.
